BIOCHAR

A "side effect" of the POWER COB process is creation of biochar

- a valuable substance that rebuilds the soil and binds CO2 from the atmosphere.

SUPPORT FOR THE SOIL

Agricultural fields are often degraded and overfertilized and, so, barren.

Biochar improves soil properties.

Physical: Thanks to its honeycomb structure, it retains water and air, as well as nutrients. It prevents excessive compaction and has alkaline properties (like lime), therefore it increases the pH of the soil.

PERMANENT RESTORATION

Biological: creates conditions for useful root-protecting microbiology and combating pests.

The high carbon content supports the cationic exchange which keeps valuable nutrients in the soil.

Biochar is not biodegradable, so it becomes a constant support.

CO2 REDUCTION

1 ton of biochar contains the equivalent

of 3 tons of carbon dioxide, which, instead of being released into the atmosphere

is permanently removed from it

and remains encapsulated in biochar to support soil restoration.
